Kate Zambreno has praised Nicole Brossard’s “lyrical descriptions of lesbian desire coupled with a continued meditation on language. Brossard conflates writing with lovemaking […] the poems forming a grammar of desire, like a diagrammed body.” See what she means by reading Brossard’s poem A Rod for a Handsome Price here.
Brossard will be joined by poets Gail Scott, Rachel Levitsky and Lisa Robertson on Thursday, October 16 for a celebration of Quebec Women’s Writing. The event will begin with a marathon reading of Gail Scott’s My Paris from 11 am- 6 pm, followed by a public reading and discussion session featuring all four writers. Both events will be held in Room H-767 at Concordia University.
