OCTOBER 8, 2013, 7 P.M. – ANDREW PYPER
Toronto-based writer who has published six works of fiction. His first book, Lost Girls, won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best First Novel. The Demonologist, his latest, is being adapted for film by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, Robert Schenkkan.

OCTOBER 10, 2013, 7 P.M. – EMMA DONOGHUE
Irish novelist whose bestselling 2010 novel Room was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize and won a number of other awards, including the Hughes & Hughes Irish Novel of the Year.

OCTOBER 28, 2013, 7 P.M. – TANYA TAGAQ, CHRISTIAN BÖK, & JAAP BLONK
Tanya Tagaq is a contemporary performance artist who uses the ancient traditional Inuit art of throat singing. She has released two critically acclaimed albums – Sinaa and Auk/Blood – both of which were nominated for Juno Awards.
Christian Bök is the author not only of Crystallography (1994), a pataphysical encyclopedia nominated for the Gerald Lampert Memorial Award, but also of Eunoia (2001), a bestselling work of experimental literature, which has gone on to win the Griffin Prize for Poetic Excellence.
Jaap Blonk is a self-taught composer, performer and poet from Holland. He has performed around the world, on all continents. With the use of live electronics the scope and range of his concerts has acquired a considerable extension. His book/CD “Traces of Speech” was published in 2012 by Hybriden-Verlag, Berlin.

NOVEMBER 19, 2013, 4 P.M. – CLARK BLAISE
Clark Blaise is the Canadian author of Time Lord, I Had a Father, Days and Nights in Calcutta, The Meagre Tarmac, and twenty other books. He was one of the founders of the Montreal Story Tellers Fiction Performance Group and in 2009, was made an Officer of the Order of Canada. He founded the post-graduate program in creative writing at Concordia University.

MARCH 14, 2014, 7 P.M. – CAROLYN FORCHÉ
Carolyn Forché is the author of four books of poetry. Her third book of poetry, The Angel of History, was chosen for The Los Angeles Times Book Award. In 1998 she was given the Edita and Ira Morris Hiroshima Foundation for Peace and Culture Award, in recognition of her work on behalf of human rights and the preservation of memory and culture.

MARCH 28, 2014, 7 P.M. – FRANCINE PROSE
Francine Prose is the author of seventeen works of fiction. Her novel A Changed Man won the Dayton Literary Peace Prize, and Blue Angel was a finalist for the National Book Award.
